March, 2026 BOB'S NOVEL, DEADline, A FINALIST IN THE IMPACT BOOK AWARDS
DEADline, the first book in Bob's Nick Cross Reports series of commercial fiction novels in the crime genre, has been named one of the five Finalists in the prestigious Impact Book Awards in Los Angeles. The winner will be announced in October. The protagonist of the series is street-hardened investigative reporter Nick Cross, a writer driven to expose the truth, even when it costs him his safety, his relationships, and often his way out. The books are richly cast with characters right out of today's headlines, with each story unfolding at the pace of a man with a deadline, whose cynical eye and jugular instincts barely keep him one step ahead of those who are trying to stop him.

BOB'S GROWING FLOWERS ON THE MOON GETS ITS WORLD PREMIERE!
After scoring accolades at the Austin Film Festival Competition for a second year in a row, Bob's remarkable play, Growing Flowers on the Moon hit the stage for its premiere run. The play tells the story of an older woman who, on the night of the 50th anniversary of her fiance's death, is visited by a young man who believes himself to be the reincarnation of her long-dead lover. The show was mounted in a site-specific production at the Ebenezer Maxwell Mansion in the Germantown section of Philadelphia, an 1859 home that has been preserved in its original condition. "The Parlor Room is perfect for the play," Bob says. "It looks just like the room I had in my mind when I wrote the play. It's intimate and will invite the audience right into the story." This was Bob's 7th World Premiere in the last 10 years.

November, 2022 WORLD PREMIERE SET FOR BOB'S NEWEST PLAY
CROSSING THE VEIL, Bob's newest full-length play, will have its World Premiere November 4-26 at the Skinner Studio Theatre at Plays and Players in Philadelphia, one of the city's oldest and most revered theaters. The play is a very personal and emotional one for Bob, as it was inspired by an occurance at his own father's viewing. The story: On the day of his funeral, a recently deceased man’s spirit finds itself in the funeral parlor viewing room with his wife, son, and daughter – from whom he’s been estranged for eight years – as each comes to pay their last respects and say their final goodbyes. As he tries to interact with them, he realizes that they cannot see or hear him, though he has no trouble doing either with them. As the afternoon progresses, what he learns from each of them is not at all what he remembers of his life. The play is an intriguing blend of dialogue within monologue as the characters are faced with the triumphs and shortcomings in each of their lives as they relate to the departed man, leading them all to an uplifting coming-to-terms with the love they have had for one another.

SEPTEMBER, 2017 BOB DRAWS HONORS FOR UNPRECEDENTED 5 PLAYS AT AUSTIN FF
In the inaugural playwriting competition at the prestigious Austin Film Festival Screenwriting and Playwriting Competition for 2017, Bob submitted five of his recently-produced plays. ALL FIVE PLAYS were judged to move on to the Second Round of the competition! The blind judging of the competition means that different readers were assigned to read separate plays and judge them on a slate of criteria that includes plot, characterization, dialogue, structure, theme, and more. Each reader gives the plays they read a score, and the top 20% of the scoring plays move on to the next round. The fact that ALL FIVE of Bob's plays moved on to the next round is quite an achievement for one writer.
